About Us

Sarah Flotten

Sarah is the Director for the Peter Clark Center at Breck. In addition to her leadership since the opening of the PCC in 2016, she has taught at Breck since 1990. She currently teaches history in middle school. Sarah is a Breck Master Teacher, an honor bestowed on select faculty who have demonstrated outstanding pedagogy and teacher leadership. A graduate of Breck, Sarah has taught 6th- and 8th-grade history, Project Adventure, coached girls soccer and basketball, led the Washington, D.C. trip, and has been the Dean of Students for 5th & 6th Grades. Sarah majored in History as an undergrad and earned a Bush Leadership Fellowship to complete her Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning. She enjoys helping faculty implement research-informed practices into their classrooms.

Jessica Wanless

Jessica is the Project Manager of the Center’s Dynamic Learner platform. She began teaching at Breck in 2012 after several years in various public schools. She has taught Spanish in all three divisions, served as a learning coach in the middle and upper school, and is the former Director of Student Support Services before moving into her current role as a grade-level dean in the upper school. She has also been a faculty fellow in the Peter Clark Center where she helped facilitate the early initiatives of the center. She is passionate about the power of demystifying the learning process for students and supporting teachers in implementing the promising principles of mind, brain, and education research.
